Chris Hodgson

Chris is a Partner at Maverix Private Equity with over 30 years of experience as an Entrepreneur, Executive, Angel Investor, and Advisor. He specializes in B2B and B2C software for eCommerce, Retail, Data, Loyalty, Martech, Industrial Tech, and Fintech. At Maverix, Chris is focused on developing the firm's value creation strategy and working with portfolio Founders and leadership teams to enhance business structure and processes for scaling growth.

Chris has co-founded two UK tech startups—uSwitch, acquired for £200m, and KidStart, which has over 1 million members and launched the Beanstalk app. He also spent six years on Google Canada’s leadership team, growing it from 50 to 300 people, and led a €400m turnaround at Computacenter France.

Before becoming a full-time Advisor, Chris was part of the executive team at RBC that built RBC Ventures from concept to 200 employees in one year. He also served on RBC’s Venture Review Board, Innovation Committee, and Diversity & Inclusion Council.

Chris holds additional roles as Venture Partner at The Group Ventures, Advisor at Next Canada and Loyal Ventures, and Non-Executive Director at KidStart and CABHI. He previously chaired the Advisory Committee of Juniper and served on the personal Advisory Committee of one of Canada’s wealthiest families.

Chris holds an MBA from INSEAD and an Engineering degree from Queen's University and has worked in five countries.
